WORCESTER HISTORICAL MUSEUM

30 Elm St., Worcester, (508) 753-8278. Tues. through Sat. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sun. from 1 to 4 p.m.

Established in 1877, the WHM collects and interprets the city's history through its permanent exhibits of relics, clothing, and writings. Now open: Ongoing: "George Cocaine: Photographs of Worcester," "In Their Shirt Sleeves...," the story of Worcester manufacturing from the late 18th century to the present, and "To Make a Better World: Worcester and Reform 1800-1860." April 28: "Creating Historical Treasures: Stitches in Time" program for kids from 1 to 3 p.m. $5; pre-register.
