FRAMINGHAM HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Old Academy Museum, 16 Vernon and Grove St. (just off Rte. 9 at Rte. 30), Framingham, (508) 872-3780. Open Wed. and Thurs. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sat. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Native American cultural objects, records of earliest settlers, Colonial industries, domestic items, Revolutionary War equipment, 18th and 19th century settings and portraits, railroad and industrial material, 20th century industrial artifacts (including items from General Motors, Dennison Manufacturing, Bose Corporation, Wallace Nutting, and Shoppers World), world war memorabilia, and a tribute to astronaut-teacher Christa McAuliffe. Now open: "Made in Framingham: Straw into Gold." April 28 through Aug. 18: "Zeal for Healing," the story of Framingham medicine from Dr. Boylston Adams and Clara Barton to the TB Study of 1917-1922 and the ongoing Heart Study.
