First Night Worcester 2001:

An Arts Odyssey

First Night takes place at 14 locations on December 31 beginning at noon and ending at midnight with a Lincoln Square gathering to view fireworks. We've picked out a few performances to check out; also, say hello to the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy at Norwich and Foster Streets -- which will be hosting an evening of Worcester Country Poetry Association readings from 4:30 to 10 p.m. First Night buttons cost $10 ($8 if purchased prior to day of event) and are available at all event locations, area McDonald's, FirstMass Banks, and Price Chopper Supermarkets, and many other locations throughout Central Massachusetts. The International Food Court will feature cheese pies and Hummous from the Antioch Association, Chicken Tikka Marsala from the India Cafe, curried goat and chicken from the African House Restaurant, Armenian pizza (Lahamajeun), and the legendary barbecued ribs and fried chicken of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
